What Does This Tool Count?
This tool counts the number of whole days between a start date and an end date. By default it counts the gap between the two dates (an exclusive count); ticking "include the end date" adds one extra day, which is useful when you're counting things like the total length of a stay or event.

Common Use Cases
Gap versus inclusive count
The default result measures how many date changes occur between the endpoints. The inclusive option counts both the first and last calendar date, adding one to the gap. This choice matters for attendance, events, rentals, and stays; use the convention in the relevant agreement.
What is included
All calendar days count, including weekends, holidays, and leap days. Reversed inputs are placed in chronological order, so results are non-negative. This is not a business-day calculator.
Daylight-saving changes do not change a calendar-day count. Two neighboring dates are one day apart even if the local clock passes through a 23- or 25-hour day. For an exact interval between moments, use timestamps instead of date-only inputs.
