QR Code Generator

Create a static QR code, check exactly what it contains, and download a PNG to share.

Inspect encoded content

Choose what should happen after a scan

URL opens a website; Text displays a message; Email prepares a message; Phone prepares a call; WiFi shares network details; and WhatsApp opens a chat link. The scanning app decides which action it offers, so test with the devices your audience will use. Generating a code does not send an email, make a call, or contact the destination.

Inputs and the content your QR code stores

Website: entering example.com/menu stores https://example.com/menu. The tool adds HTTPS when you leave out the scheme; it does not check whether the page exists.
Email: recipient hello@example.com with subject Menu request stores mailto:hello@example.com?subject=Menu%20request. The scanner opens a draft rather than sending it.
Guest WiFi: network Guest, password demo1234, WPA/WPA2, and no hidden-network flag produce WIFI:T:WPA;S:Guest;P:demo1234;H:false;;. Anyone with this code can read the password.
Phone: +1 202 555 0123 becomes tel:+12025550123. Include the country code when the code will be shared internationally.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Choose the type of content and fill in the relevant fields.
  2. For phone or WhatsApp, include a country code; for WiFi, use the exact network name and security type.
  3. Select Generate QR Code, then inspect the encoded content.
  4. Download PNG, scan it on a second device, and test the final printed or displayed size.

Common Use Cases

Linking a restaurant menu from a table card
Sharing guest WiFi details at a reception desk
Providing a contact action on a flyer
Labeling an item with a short plain-text note

Check before printing

Open Inspect encoded content to review the exact destination or message. Scan the downloaded PNG on a second device, then test it again at the final print size. Keep the white margin around all four sides, use strong contrast, and avoid stretching, covering, or cropping the squares. The generator includes a four-module white margin.

Capacity and editing limits

This generator supports QR versions 1–10 in UTF-8 byte mode, up to 271 bytes of total encoded content. Email and WhatsApp messages can grow when punctuation is URL-encoded. It prefers error-correction level M and uses L when needed for a longer payload. Shorter content produces a less dense code. Some scanning apps interpret non-ASCII text differently, so test multilingual content on target devices.

These are static codes: the PNG itself does not expire, but its linked website or account can stop working. You cannot change the content in a printed code. Update your own landing page at the same URL, or create a new code if the destination changes. There is no redirect service or scan tracking provided by this tool.

Privacy when sharing

Encoding happens in your browser. A QR code is readable data, not encryption. Use a guest WiFi network for publicly shared access, and inspect codes from unfamiliar sources before following their links.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit a code after printing?

The encoded content is fixed. A website at the same encoded URL can be updated, but changing the URL itself requires a new code.

Why does long text fail?

This implementation has a 271-byte payload limit, including prefixes and encoded fields. Shorten the content or use a stable page on a site you control.

Will every phone perform the same action?

No. Support for WiFi, email, phone, and other payloads depends on the scanner and installed apps. Test your intended action on target devices.

Does downloading a code enable scan analytics?

No. The generator creates a static image and does not track scans. The destination website may have its own analytics.
